  1. This would be a great start for 2019
  2. Jerry was desperate after losing out on Ohtani last year.

If we were talking to Robertson, I would think Eppler would be in the market for Ottavino and Britton.

You’ve got $10-12 million to spend

If $10-12 million is really the amount available, then Grandal would be pushing it. I'd sign : Lucroy for 5-6 million Tulo for league minimum Shawn Kelly and Xavier Cedeno for $3-4 million each. Last, I would trade Bedrosian for whatever we can get. If we had a little more money to play with than the estimated $10-$12 million: Grandal for $12-15 million per year Cody Allen for $7-8 million Tony Sipp for $4-5 million Tulowitzki for league minimum

Harper is going to the Dodgers... They don't make this trade unless they have that lined up.

Why the Angels won't sign Yasmani Grandal

That's great... Still would only have 4 hitters in the regular lineup that we can count on.

Why the Angels won't sign Yasmani Grandal

So we will add Martin Maldonado and his .276 obp or Lucroy and his .291 obp?

Eppler also said that he would prefer a defensive minded catcher.

Eppler said Tuesday was about 50/50 in terms of meeting with agents and talking with other clubs about potential trades. He also clarified his football analogy from Monday, when he said they could go for a field goal but wanted to score a touchdown. "There are some small things we could do right now, but we're not sure we want to do those quite yet in hopes we can do things that are above smaller," Eppler said.
