  1. Gameday: 3/17 Angels vs Mariners

You missed the part where our left fielder gave up a triple on a fly out.
  2. Gameday: 3/17 Angels vs Mariners

I figured it was something like that. He will have to be a passable left fielder before he can be a 4th outfielder.
  3. Spring Training stats: Do they matter?

    That sucks.

Ok let’s say we have the worst staff in playoff contention. Does Cobb push us past anyone? Holland? Probably not. The only thing that puts us ahead of other teams is health and pitching to capabilities.

I’m going to say this. We all saw Upton play D last year and I think our eye test told us he wasn’t very good defensively. Using the same eye test Hermosillo is much worse. Granted neither are as bad as the eye test, but god Herm looks like shit out there.

I guess I read it about one team and assumed it was the same for every team. That doesn’t say they’d lose slot money for the pick. I’m guessing they do, but if they don’t, then I would have no issues signing one of these guys.

I disagree and thank you. How’d you know?

So Trout will get 7 years $280 million?
  9. Toys R Us Closing

I bought my nephew a tricycle and a drum set this past year from TRU, it wasn’t a great experience.

If we are looking for the best bat then I’d go with Carter. If we’re looking for little to no drop off on defense I go Cowart. You bring up a good point of giving Cowart everyday at bats at AAA and call him up if there’s an injury. If I had to choose I’d still probably go Cowart, he could run a bit late in games. I also think that Eppler values D so much that he may go with a glove first utility guy.

    They did that.
  12. The last roster spot

That terrific season Carter had two years ago was good enough for a .9 WAR in 644 at bats. Cowart last year was a .7 WAR in 100 or so at bats. That’s what elite defense does for the team.

Yes it was obvious he was bad at baseball. As far as what the GM does, well you need a second baseman, so what he does is kind of important. So if I had to choose between great defense and Espinosa or start Pennington, well I don’t know what I’d do. But if we break those two players up into offense and defense, there’s literally only one good tool out of the two players and that would be Espinosa’s defense.

    Because of August, ok.
