An honest question about Mike Scioscia's future

It’s news. You break the information or someone else does. You’re in the public spotlight, you’re game. Clearly whomever leaked it to rosenthal wanted the news out there. There’s no protection anymore. That died with Ruth. What make me laugh is that rosenthal got the scoop before all the other local hacks in town. Shows how little relationship the local media has with the Halos inner circle.

Let him finish this out. He’s served the organization well.

I’d expect if Sosh were to manage again, it would be the Dodgers. Especially if Roberts comes up short again. The halos probably should keep him around though, especially if he has no desire to manage.

    Hey Strad, was Bobby Cox a HOF manager in your opinion? I look at this list of guys above Sosh and I see a lot of rings. Cox had one and leads managers in getting thrown out of games. 1 Connie Mack 3,731 3,948 .486 2 John McGraw 2,763 1,948 .586 3 Tony La Russa 2,728 2,365 .536 4 Bobby Cox 2,504 2,001 .556 5 Joe Torre 2,326 1,997 .538 6 Sparky Anderson 2,194 1,834 .545 7 Bucky Harris 2,158 2,219 .493 8 Joe McCarthy 2,125 1,333 .615 9 Walter Alston 2,040 1,613 .558 10 Leo Durocher 2,008 1,709 .540 11 Bruce Bochy * 1,909 1,909 .500 12 Casey Stengel 1,905 1,842 .508 13 Gene Mauch 1,902 2,037 .483 14 Bill McKechnie 1,896 1,723 .524 15 Dusty Baker 1,863 1,636 .532 16 Lou Piniella 1,835 1,713 .517 17 Jim Leyland 1,769 1,728 .506 18 Mike Scioscia * 1,624 1,402 .537

Not just tonight Scott. every time I post here. You’ve got to rip open the suit and show the halo on your chest to protect your team and come after me as bitter, or a troll, or an ex-fan. You don’t have to agree with my opinion. I’m here to talk about the team otherwise I wouldn’t be here. I have no problems with you disagreeing with me 100% of the time. I respect your opinion even if I don’t agree with it.

I like Carlos Beltran. He is borderline. He played the game long enough to have decent stats. mike served the club well. He was hamstrung with a lot of crap over the years, but other managers have prevailed through tough situations. The team needs a new voice. Retire his number and say adios. He won the ring. He deserves props.

Or you’re completely overthinking it and obsessed with me and my posts. I’m here to talk about the team, not to be vetted how many games I watch or seeing what my loyalty score is. If you really believe the Angels are a better team since 2002, maybe you should give Arte more credit. Had the Angels been spenders before 02, they would have had more wins. I don’t argue that they are better than 500 since 02, my point is they shit the bed every time in the playoffs since, and after being perennial west champions, they aren’t even getting into the playoffs. Sosh shouldn’t be awarded for longevity because it’s really honoring mediocrity and a very bad 10 year contract. If I wasn’t a fan, I wouldn’t be wasting my time going back and forth with you at 11:09 on a Saturday night. So quit your narrative that I’m here to attack your beloved angels. Nobody appointed you the Halo rent-a-cop.

Cmon buddy. Most of the bottom 21 teams have as many or more rings than the Angels. That’s what counts right? The fans here overwhelmingly said they’d lose Trout in order to win rings. Just answer this question, I picture you sitting home after a long day of work in a recliner wearing the fill angels uni, including stirrups. Is that true? Your affection for this game is commendable and the years you spent with your dad and sons going to opening days is nostalgic. But i don’t think that gives you the right to question anyone’s fandom. You don’t know what I watch, what i read, or what i like and don’t like when it comes to this team. Please stop attacking me every time I comment on a post.

He’s the Carlos Beltran of managers. Lasted long enough. I don’t argue that he had a good record but his teams choked in the playoffs many times. Had the Angels won in 79 would Fregosi have been a great manager? Had the Angels won in 82/86, would Mauch be a great manager? This is why I love sports. Hypotheticals are fun to debate.

I had this discussion recently. They are barely over 500. They have one title in 57 years. Enough said. I’ve enjuyed watching them suffer for the last 40 years.

Thanks Strad (I think). I do watch the games. I’ve been to three this year.

Angels need to go the route of Napoleon lajoie and make Trout player manager. Anaheim Trouts.

This club has a staple of losing. I didn’t say it was better before. I sad recently, we are one of the worst clubs of all time.

I’d like to see them do something unique. Like a bobblestomach.
