  1. These are the same fans who ate literal pieces of horseshit when the Eagles won the Super Bowl.

    Thank you, Arte

He’s always said he’d pay for the right players. He did that today.
  3. “I can’t wait to trade for him” LOL
  4. The delicious tears of Philly phans.

    Trout and then what?

I think this signals that Trout is on the same page with the whole organization and it’s plan for development. It lets the current crop of guys know that if they stick around and produce, the team will take care of them. It also signals to other players that the Halos will absolutely open the checkbook for the right players, as Arte has always said.
  6. I wonder how is doing today?
  7. Awesome news to get this morning! I’m so glad he’ll be an Angel for life. im glad this will also shut off the national media narrative that he wants to play in Philly with Harper.

The Way This Incredible News Broke

I like how he just lets the people in suits handle this stuff and leaves the negotiating out of the media. The way it should be, IMO.

    My New Favorite Person

Yes! I always thought it was Teixeira.
  10. I wouldn’t have a problem with that. They already call a fouled bunt attempt with two-strikes an out.

MLB and the MLBPA made a deal.

In effect they did. This rule pretty much makes the LHRP endangered and the LOOGY extinct, neither of which is a problem in MLB as far as I’m concerned.

The Official Los Angeles Lakers Thread

As a fan, I have been very happy to have LeBron here. We can speculate however we want about LBJ’s influence over roster construction, but that is where the problem was. As an earlier poster noted: all ball handlers and no shooters. I also would have liked the team to retain Randle and Lopez. They would have helped a lot. That said, I didn’t expect a huge leap forward for the team until next season when they’ll likely have another max player on board. Hopefully that still comes together.

    AND he's done.

Same. My first thought was that Heaney’s condition is worse than first suspected.

MLB and the MLBPA made a deal.

Possibly because of the way NL rosters are constructed. Since they don’t typically carry DH-type players to begin with, they’ll have more positional flexibility and can more afford to carry a player like that.
