Garrett Richards leaves start early with left hamstring tightness

24 posts in this topic

Did Richards queef too hard and get a tight hammy?

Did Cozart strain his shoulder when someone slapped him on back while laughing when he told him the Angels gave him a 3 year deal?

Angels are notorious liars about injuries. I wouldn't be surprised if Richards injury was actually arm related.

Yes the Angel's have a great motive to lie to us about injuries.

Then why do they always lie?

You ever seen a hamstring injury? The guy immediately grabs the back of his legs, falls down while screaming and rolling on the ground like a mad man. Then he gets carried off the field by two people.

He doesn't just keep pitching and walk off the mound like it's nothing.

Losing velocity is telling, but not of what. Either he really does have a bad hammy and couldn't push off good enough, or something is up with his arm.

We'll find out in a couple days.

Or like he says it’s hamstring tightness.  You’re describing something much much worse than tightness.

I’m in the boat of not trusting the team.   They have a huge record of making everything as absolutely rosey as can be until the last possible moment, usually when an irrefutable source says otherwise.

Presumably it’s to sell tickets as nothing good can happen from bad news.  Those who think otherwise have been either ignorant of this tradition or ignorant in general.

Why do we deserve to know about the injuries?   Most of the time when asked its immediately after the game when they really don’t have an actual diagnosis.

Obviously you haven't had many hamstring injuries and only seen them watching sports. The hamstring injuries you describe occurs usually when the athlete is running and it is full pull with partial tearing.  I think the terminology would call it a 2nd degree strain.  I have had one of those while ol laying softball running to first base.  I was out about six weeks with this injury.

Less serious strains do not "grab" where I "jumped" up.  Many times what the athletes feel is "tightness" in the hamstring.  I have had several of these injuries while playing basketball.   Best description I can give is that it "feels like it's about to grab". In this case they will shut down full speed activities for a couple of weeks in order to let the muscle heal and not further damage.

You think they lie because you want to think they lie.  Sometimes they just might be wrong. Or sometimes people like you dobt have all the information and think there is a grand conspiracy

If they are lying there would be a motive to lie.   You cant tell me what the motive is.

How about that Calhoun Oblique strain? Maybe dehydration rings a bell?

Who will replace Richards in the rotation?

Probably the next guy up would be John Lamb.
