While the Ducks and the Kings are losing for Hughes.

The Avalanche not only are losing for hughes, but playing Crappa for Kaapa.  Thanks Senators.

And I'm sure Tyson Barrie is available

Might as well go for it this year before they all bail

Personally.  I think they should trade Brobonsky to Florida and get something for him.  Might even get a first for him.  Then trade for Miller on the Ducks to finish off the season.

Season wise, Brobonsky 2.75 GAA, 0.908 save %.  Career 2.47 GAA, 0.919 save %.

Miller 2.36 GAA, 0.929 save %.  Career 2.59 GAA, 0.916 save %.

And in case you are wondering.  Erik Brannstrom, 1st round, 15th overall.  19 YO Swede.  AHL 28 points in 41 games.

Quote

A puck moving defenseman with excellent skating skills. Brännström has impressive offensive instincts and hockey sense. Plays a pretty good defensive game, which will improve further with increased strength to go with his rather modest height. Passing ability stands out, shot is good and he loves to control the PP. (EP 2017)

Oscar Lindberg.  2nd round 57th overall.  27 YO, 12 points in 35 games.  $1.7 million, FA after this season.

WTF kind of return is that?

It really isn't a bad one for a player that was an upcoming UFA and was asking for and got 8 @ 9.5AAV.

So Cale Makar won the Hoby Baker but lost the championship game. It looks like the Avalanche will try to sign him today and actually use him in the playoffs, especially if it turns out that Sam Girard got hurt in game 2 against the Flames.

This is a bit of a dilemma since it burns a full year of ELC time meaning he has to be protected from expansion if the rules stay the same. On the plus side, his RFA comes due with a year less time to build up his value and he could a huge help if they lose Girard. You can't have serious post season aspirations if you have to trot out a 3rd pairing of Ryan Graves and Patrick Nemeth

I’m in favor of anything that will help send that idiot Tkachuk home early.

Doesn't it take 10 games to burn a ELC for the expansion draft?  Not sure if there is a distinction for the playoffs.

Everything I've heard so far says if he plays he burns a year but that the rules for Seattle aren't yet set in stone
