Second Base 5,689 Posted July 14, 2018 I know that no one is going to take this signing seriously, but I actually think this is a great move. Tazawa was untouchable in the past, ran into some fatigue issues, unknowingly began compensating elsewhere in his delivery and the end result was losing 2-3 mph on his fastball and losing all feel for his pitches. Don't get me wrong, he might totally end up being toast. But Eppler signed him and sent him to extended ST immediately. After reviewing video of him in Boston and video of him now, the team scouts believe they've identified a mechanical tweak that has caused the majority of his issues. It's pretty similar to what happened with Alex Meyer. They showed him the difference and got him on a gameplan to get back on track. Alex had turned into an ace pretty much overnight. He was hiding the ball, throwing strikes and no one could touch his slider. He truly had turned the corner, until his arm exploded. But I think there might be something here with Junichi Tazawa.. Ace-Of-Diamonds 2,751 Posted July 14, 2018 Anyone remember the pitcher that came off the DL and threw a pitch and snapped a bone in his arm.

Angel Oracle 9,478 Posted July 14, 2018 Didn’t Dravecky’s arm develop cancer in it? I thought I remembered that being what caused the arm to be amputated. 1 The Ghost of Bob Starr reacted to this
failos 1,306 Posted July 14, 2018 Wow Dravecky is a badass. I hadn’t heard of him until now. A good Christian too apparently .

WeatherWonk 794 Posted July 14, 2018 I remember reading an interview with Dravecky after the amputation. He mentioned that occasionally he would get an itching sensation, and the desire to scratch it, in the arm...................which was gone. The brain is a strange thing. 1 Angel Oracle reacted to this
