OC Register: Angels ink reliever Daniel Hudson to minor league deal

1 post in this topic

The Angels added an experienced reliever Friday by agreeing to a minor league deal with veteran Daniel Hudson, according to a source.

Hudson, who spent last season with the Dodgers, will earn $1.5 million if he makes the team and he can earn another $1.5 million in incentives.

Hudson, who turns 32 next month, has undergone two Tommy John surgeries, and he missed the last two months of the 2018 season with right forearm soreness.

Before getting hurt, he had pitched 46 innings with a 4.11 ERA and 8.6 strikeouts per nine innings.

Over the previous three seasons, he had averaged 63 innings with a 4.46 ERA.

Hudson goes into a bullpen mix with Cody Allen as the most experienced reliever. Hansel Robles, Ty Buttrey, Luis Garcia, Justin Anderson, Noé Ramírez, Williams Jerez and Taylor Cole are also likely to figure in the Angels bullpen plans.
